Jacaranda phenomenon appreciation tour.

Annually from late September to beginning December, around 70 000 Jacaranda trees bloom all over Pretoria and turn the face of the city into what is affectionately known as “purple rain”.

Start with a drive around Bosman and Cilliers Streets, where some of the first lanes of Jacarandas are believed to have been planted.  Proceed through to Arcadia, past Loftus Stadium and through Sunnyside and Brooklyn. Conclude with a venture along Klapperkop Nature Reserve, from where you’ll get a bird’s eye view and admiration of the Jacaranda trees forming the sea of purple in the city below.
