CITY OF TSHWANE COMMEMORATES TOURISM MONTH 2021

We always look forward to September, not only because it is the official beginning of Spring, but also because it is Tourism Month, a celebration of the importance of the tourism sector to the economy. This year’s theme, as declared by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), is Tourism for inclusive growth.

The City of Tshwane regards tourism’s potential to address the triple challenges of unemployment, poverty and inequality as an important part of our strategic plan to strengthen the economy. In this challenging COVID-19 environment, we continue to provide tourism support services and digital marketing resources to increase the visibility of our tourism businesses as the industry increasingly provides its markets the opportunity to turn to online platforms.

A key thrust of our programme is to nurture a culture of travel among our own Tshwane residents and South Africans at large. For visitors, we have a jam-packed September tourism events calendar that showcases a variety of exciting leisure and business events that will take place in Tshwane. We have also loaded this website with our industry partners’ attractively priced travel deals ready to be booked for your next holiday!

We encourage you to explore our website and discover the capital city.
